The Pegasus Product Family, introduced in 2001, supports the speed, capacity and power requirements of
the latest generation of storage devices. Designed with an open architecture, the Pegasus platform addresses
the market’s need for equipment with the ability to test multiple interfaces with minimal set-up time. Most Pegasus
systems can be fitted with two or even three different interfaces in each test port, thus maximizing system
flexibility and minimizing the total number of test slots you need. Changing interfaces is a snap with our new
slide-out drive fixtures and shelves. Additionally, interfaces are easily and inexpensively upgraded, extending
system life and yielding better return on investment compared to test systems with on-SBC interface controllers.
At the heart of the Pegasus family is the Pegasus controller, an Intel Celeron-based single board computer
(SBC) that supports the latest interfaces including SAS, SATA 2.0, ATA/UDMA133, SCSI-U320, and 2Gbps FC-AL.
Another key component of Pegasus is the network power margin (NPM) card. This new power margining board
boasts industry-best accuracy and the ability to support the most power-hungry drives and interface cards.
The open architecture Pegasus hardware platform can run FLEXSTAR’s powerful new Perseus test software or
FLEXSTAR’s Orion P25 Host/Client test software. Both of these software platforms provide simple, script-driven
control of the test chamber and the ability to synchronize oven functions with your test script.
